The Antique Rose Emporium

I had the chance to make a quick trip over to The Antique Rose Emporium yesterday…

2010 03 15 001 edit …love the chapel…

2010 03 15 002…wish this was my weekend house…

2010 03 15 010…could smell the sweet fragrance of this tree long before I saw it…

2010 03 15 009 edit…no wonder there were hundreds of bees hanging around the blooms…

2010 03 15 011 edit…love the vivid magenta against the blue sky …assuming it’s a fruit tree…

2010 03 15 014  …anyone recognize the blooms?

2010 03 15 017 edit…love the manicured shape of these shrubs…wait till you see how tall they are…

2010 03 15 018 edit…taller than an old pier and beam farmhouse…kudos to the gardener who climbs to the top and creates these amazing sculptures…

2010 03 15 029…last year when I saw these steel structures, I wondered what they would be used for…

2010 03 15 027 edit…they make a living canopy of climbing roses…

2010 03 15 032 edit   …fell in love with this chocolate vine climbing on a porch railing…

2010 03 15 033 edit…Texas Mountain Laurel…smells like grape kool-aid…

2010 03 15 038 edit…”succulent” candles in the gift shop…

2010 03 15 040 edit…always been impressed with this structure…made entirely of clay pots…

2010 03 15 043 edit…the Tin Man keeps watches over the Yellow Brick Road in the children’s garden…

2010 03 15 044 edit…paused to admire a Redbud on the way back to the car…

You might notice that I didn’t take any pictures of roses at The Rose Emporium…weird, I know, but they really aren’t blooming yet…we’ll make another trip to see the roses, larkspur and poppies!
