BB: Describe the Tulipina signature look.

KU: Lush, garden style. Asymmetric designs. Unexpected color combinations and rich palettes.

BB: How did you develop your signature look?

KU: As I played around with different ingredients from the garden, and added some tidbits to my arrangements, I decided that I liked them better when they had a free flowing and organic look as they rested in the vases. I wanted finished designs that were more artful, and looked like they were in the garden without being tightly positioned and forced into the vessel(s).

BB: Where do you find inspiration?

KU: My inspiration can really come from anywhere – from a walk in my neighborhood, my garden, the amazing variety available at the San Francisco Flower Mart, a visit to the local nursery, music, or perhaps a visit to the NYC Metropolitan Museum of Art.
