The Question:

What trends are you seeing in your business regarding:

1) Bouquet shape

2) Frequently chosen flower type/variety

3) Wedding themes

4) Color Palettes

The Answers:

I’m noticing brides really like the soft cascading bouquets and even the more dramatic cascade is seeming to make a bit of a comeback. I’m finding more brides who want asymmetry in their bouquets, along with seasonal foliages and some signature trailing ribbon.

French brides tend to choose more and more natural, garden style designs. Here the round bouquet is still the first choice even if the unstructured/opened flower ones are starting to appear. Garden flowers are more and more chosen: English roses, wide open peonies, dinner plate dahlias. Regarding the colors, white/ivory and pink remain the most popular choice, but more and more brides ask for wider pastel palettes. As for wedding themes, the fact of choosing a specific theme is not so popular anymore. Usually, couples would rather choose an atmosphere or style than a well-defined theme.

-Laetitia Mayor (Floresie)

The trends of the past few years seem to still be going strong — Coral Charm Peonies and Cafe Au Lait Dahlias are in high demand! Along with anything in the peachy, blush pink and beige tones.

-Alicia Schwede (Bella Fiori and Flirty Fleurs)

…………………………………………………………………………..

The wedding trend in my area is still lots of Blush Pinks and soft Peaches and Ivories, very romantic and lush in style with lots of greenery. Brides are requesting the ‘just picked from the garden’ style with lots of vines, foliage and textures. They are also asking that centerpieces vary from table to table, nothing too matchy. Bouquet are being requested as being natural in shape but not too wild with vines or cascades. Peonies, Garden Roses, Ranunculus and Cafe Au Lait Dahlias are still holding strong for the most requested flowers. Dusty Miller is my most requested foliage.  I love the trends in wedding flowers right now!

-Elisabeth Zemetis (Blush Floral Design)

………………………………………………………………………..

I see 3 major trends when it comes to flowers:

Classic romantic – pastels, round bouquets and sweet flowers like garden roses, peonies, lily of the valley, stocks and other traditional summer flowers.

Natural – wild bouquets with quite undefined bouquet shapes.

Personal – those who dare to go their own way, with a very personal bouquet, seems to grow more and more.

-Emelie Ekborg (Flora Inspiro and Svenska Blomsterbloggar )

………………………………………………………………………

The most popular bouquet shape for brides coming to Mood Flowers remains the round hand tied bouquet although we are seeing more demand for a looser more natural style rather than the tight ball shape. Roses, peonies (in season) and freesia continue to be the most popular flower varieties. In terms of themes, the craving for all things vintage has died down and we are seeing a lot of interest for a woodland theme. All ivory or pale pink weddings remain the most popular but a few brides are being brave enough to go all out on bright colours particularly for marquee wedding receptions.

I’d have to agree that blush, blush, blush is really big this year, as are peachy tones and lots of beige too. I have a fair number of brides requesting cascade bouquets this year. Flower requests are for soft, full flowers, and also unique textural items. Lots and lots of vines too. Oh, and did I mention BLUSH?

Thank you so much for featuring our designs today!!!

  2. Very natural ” the best of the Northwest” and bright colors.

  3. Laurie Garza says:

I am still seeing the tight rounded bouquets in my area of central California. I’ll keep trying to find the brides that want soft trailing look I love!
